This a full summer position with the option to turn into a permanent position

Class 3 w/air endorsement drivers’ license and an incident free driving record
Role Summary:
The FL/RO Driver is responsible for an array of duties and will play a crucial role in maintaining cleanliness and sanitation within the community. Safe and efficient operation of specialized FL/RO garbage trucks for collecting and transporting waste and recyclables is a primary responsibility. Completing predetermined routes with various stops and locations, while documenting all pertinent information to the routing software. Duties include performing pre-trip vehicle inspections along with routine truck maintenance and cleaning, reporting repair requirements and identifying malfunctions in a timely manner. The ideal candidate is reliable, has a strong work ethic, and is committed to providing excellent service to the community
Primary Responsibilities:
- Operate garbage truck to collect waste and recyclables along designated routes.
- Ensure the safe and efficient loading and unloading of waste and recyclables.
- Adhere to all traffic laws, regulations, and safety procedures.
- Inspect vehicle daily for mechanical and safety issues, and report any defects or maintenance needs.
- Maintain accurate records of waste collected, routes taken, and any issues encountered.
- Communicate effectively with dispatchers, supervisors, and the public.
- Assist in the sorting and disposal of waste at designated facilities.
- Provide excellent customer service, addressing any concerns or complaints professionally.
- Perform routine cleaning and maintenance of the truck to ensure it remains in good working condition.
- Follow all company policies and procedures, including those related to health and safety.
- Attend training sessions and meetings as required.
Requirements
- Experience
- Previous experience in a similar field or a relevant role.
- Class 3 w/air endorsement drivers’ license and an incident free driving record
- Detail-oriented with a proactive and resourceful mindset.
- Ability to prioritize tasks and work independently. Move to the next task without instruction.
- Understanding of Routing Software and computer literacy is an asset.
- High school diploma or Equivalent as a minimum.
