Wildernest Childcare will be a licensed group child care center opening in Spring 2025 just 10 minutes south of Golden, BC. Our program provides high-quality care for children aged 3-5 years, with a strong emphasis on outdoor learning, exploration, and holistic development. About the Position

We are looking for a passionate and dedicated Early Childhood Educator (ECE) to join our team. As an ECE at Wildernest Childcare, you will play a key role in fostering a safe, nurturing, and engaging environment that supports children's social, emotional, physical, and cognitive growth. This is a full-time, permanent position with competitive wages and a supportive workplace culture.

Duties & Responsibilities

• Plan and implement developmentally appropriate activities that support children's learning and well-being
• Supervise and engage with children during indoor and outdoor play, meals, and rest time
• Foster a safe, inclusive, and nurturing environment for all children
• Guide and assist children in the development of proper eating, dressing and toilet habits
• Communicate effectively with parents, colleagues, and management
• Observe, document, and assess children's progress and behaviors
• Maintain cleanliness, organization, and safety standards in the childcare facility
• Work collaboratively with fellow educators to support program goals
• Other duties as assigned within the child care.

Requirements

• Valid Early Childhood Educator (ECE) Certificate in BC
• Current First Aid Certificate
• Clear Criminal Record Check
• Strong background in early childhood education
• A passion for outdoor learning and child development
• Ability to take initiative and prioritize tasks.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills
• Experience in a licensed childcare setting (preferred)
• Additional courses/training related to child growth and development an asset
